King School held its annual Health Fair on Saturday, November 19, 2011. Many agencies were on hand providing information on how to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Medical screenings, health education, health insurance information, and other services were provided by the numerous community service organizations and clinics that participated.
This year, King School partnered with the Coalition of Mexican American Organizations to provide conference sesssions on a variety of topics, including gang prevention, parent involvement, school dropout problems, the importance of reading, graduation requirements and how to become a U.S. citizen.
Approximately 200 parents attended the event. Lunch was provided for all participants and there were also many raffle prizes awarded, including turkeys, bicycles, and many other prizes.
We want to thank all of the individuals and organizations that helped make this event a success.
