On Friday, April 8th, 2011, King School held its second annual California Standards Test Rally.  The theme for the Pep Rally was We Are Champions and our motto was Go For the Green.  Throughout the rally teachers were encouraging students to score GREEN (proficient or advanced) on the CST.  Teachers in 2nd through 8th grade prepared skits reminding students of strategies they can use to be successful on the CST.  Through humor, songs, and poetry teachers encouraged students to persevere and excel during the upcoming language arts and math state tests.  Our wonderful King School Band, led by Mr. Hernandez, also played several songs that motivated our students.  Among the many songs played was an instrumental rendition of "We Are The Champions."  All of the 2nd through 8th grade students enjoyed watching the skits performed by our teachers.  Our students are excited to show what they have learned on the CST and we're sure we will meet our goal of increasing our API from 666 to 676.  If we do reach our goal of 676, King School students overwhelmingly voted for Mrs. Fabian and Mr. Asuncion to both kiss a pig.  We are already busy trying to find a pig, because we're sure our school will improve next year.  We wanted to extend a special thank you to all of the staff that helped make this event a success.
